#1 General B5 musings

Post by Batman »

Nothing particular this time, just stuff I noticed.
1. EarthForce door design
Is there any reason to design the doors that way except possibly aesthetics? Don't get me wrong I think they look way cool, but I can't think of a single advantage they have over conventional rectangular ones.
2. B5 wall display screen placement
In 'Hunter, Prey' the assistant to the secret agent man from Earthdome went to the wall display screen to accept an incoming call, and the poor thing could barely reach the controls thanks to the bloody display being mounted 6' or so off the floor. Granted, it's not a problem for station personell (who can manipulate them via their commlinks or voice commands) but is there any purpose to that? Or is that stupid placement unique to the CO's office?
3. Why in blazes are the fighter launch bays in groups of 7? And what is the nominal strength of a squadron?
4. Do we ever hear about the dial-a-yield PPGs from TG again?
5. Why does security wear different insignia than Garibaldi does (I'm talking about the crosshair thingy vs the EA badge)? Does that mean they're not members of EarthForce?
'I wonder how far the barometer sunk.'-'All der way. Trust me on dis.'
'Go ahead. Bake my quiche'.
'Undead or alive, you're coming with me.'
'Detritus?'-'Yessir?'-'Never go to Klatch'.-'Yessir.'
'Many fine old manuscripts in that place, I believe. Without price, I'm told.'-'Yes, sir. Certainly worthless, sir.'-'Is it possible you misunderstood what I just said, Commander?'
'Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a sword a little'
'Run away, and live to run away another day'-The Rincewind principle
'Hello, inner child. I'm the inner babysitter.'
