Look, we all know that Wolverine lusting after Jean Grey is as creepy as fuck. She's not on the market and she isn't his type. But then I got to thinking, she's really Logan's best choice and its not his fault.
You see there was, once upon a time, when Wolverine went after different chicks. Hot Japanese ninja assassin death machine chicks among them. This was back in the 80s when Wolverine was still cool. The problem was that Marvel fridged them. So where does that leave Logan? Every woman he loves dies. So the only real choice for him is a woman who treats death as a revolving door. Which means Jean Grey.
So, given the above facts, I can't hate on him for that anymore. For being way overwanked by fanboys and stupid writers, sure I can hate him for that. For the stupid love triangle, no. That's on Marvel.

It's not that I'm unforgiving, it's that most of the people who wrong me are unrepentant assholes.

I really, really wish they'd left her death permanent at the end of the phoenix saga. Despite it being one of the best endings to a story ever, it would also prevent the kind of 'revolving door' thing you mentioned.
PS I saw X-men First Class, and it was Good. Two thumbs up for me.
