#1 Urban Dead (Restart)
Latrobe NecroTech Building
Darvall Heights
City of Malton, England
Three Months after the fall of Caiger
Darek Silver stood on the edge of the roof of the Latrobe Building, the ruined Necrotech symbol which as little as a year ago would have shown brightly in the evening, was twisted broken and dark. He looked over the city of Malton, once a bright, shining city in the English countryside, was now a horrific wasteland.
A almost a year ago, all hell broke loose. From one of the very buildings like he stood on, a Necrotech Office/Lab, something escaped - and the dead began to rise. Within a week, the city was in chaos, closed off from the outside world, and the undead prowled.
In those first few months, it was horror after horror, humans turning on one another, scavenging for whatever scraps of food, whatever weapons they could get their hands on.
Until the Caiger.
At Caiger Mall, the Irregulars, a group of survivors banded together with a common goal - retaking at least a portion of the city for humanity. They had succeeded, albeit briefly, and pulled together a community. Fortifying the Mall, rounding up weapons and food and fuel, Caiger Mall became a fortress-castle, the with the 1st and 2nd Irregular's being the Knight-protectors. No better fighting force had been seen in the city, no better at killing the Zed's or those humans who sought to take what was built at Caiger.
Freedom was won through countless sacrifice and heartache there - until a few months ago. There was quiet a community gathered in the Mall, nearly 600 people had warned in, hearing the calls on the radio waves, telling survivors where to go, and the Mall was florishing. Petro, leader of the 1st Irregulars, had found love in the arms of Melanie Boothe - red haired leader of the Emerald Guard - and together they were having a child. Towards the end of the pregnancy, complications occured - both in the mother, and in Malton.
There were no large scale gatherings of humans in Malton since the outbreak, because large groups meant the smell of fresh meat hung heavy in the air. It drew the undead. And eventually, so did the Caiger.
Unlike previous hordes, the Zombies numbered well into the thousands, shambling horrors which swarmed the defenses, and threatened to overtake the walls. Evacuation orders where given, and thanks to the previous communication established with the outside world, Helicoptors arrived to take away as many of the survivors as they could.
Petro and Melanie where on the first copter, ordered out due to the red-headed Queen of Caiger's condition. The 2nd would stay behind to cover the others.
Unfortunately, the Mall defenses didn't hold. With less than a quarter of the total refugees evacuated, the Horde burst through the barricades, and descended upon the humans. The Second held the line, using every means at their disposal, to usher the civilians through escape tunnels, to fall back shelters.
Eventually, even the Second broke, rushing through the tunnels, and setting off the explosive charges. The Caiger Mall, a shining bastion of hope within Malton, had fallen to the hordes. Losses to both civilians, and their protectors, where numerous.
The survivors spread out, and the Mall was left in ruins.
Until a week ago.
A week ago, after three long months of searching, of training, and surviving, the Second had come to reclaim their home.
A week ago, a swarm of three hundred Zombies still lingered near the Caiger, feral zed's who milled about, occasionally biting each other for meat. The Second, now just the Irregulars, had reclaimed the Latrobe building - the Necrotech facility which overlooked their home. Securing the building, and forcing it into a command base. Power was restored with mobile generators, and the entrances were secured.
Striking out from their new base, the Irregulars lured the Zed's come the Mall, dismembering the horde bit by bit. Until the last Zombie lay dead, their bodies a pile of dismembered parts lying in the bottom of a pit.
The Caiger was reclaimed, the barricades where once more up and reinforced - and it was being repaired.
Walking down the stair access from the roof, Silver emerged into his temporary C&C, a former meeting room on the top floor, three inch thick steel doors rested open, and a transmitter was propped in the corner.
The hum of power flowing through it's circuits brought a sense of warmth to him, this would be the first time in months he made a broadcast. He hoped people were still listening.
"To those within the sound of my voice," he began, his voice moving through the airwaves, to be picked up by the radios within and outside of the city, "The Irregular's have retaken the Caiger.....it's time to come home..."
He didn't say anything else, shutting off the transmit switch, and powered down the unit.
He walked out of the meeting room, it was time to go home.

This is a continuation of the previous UD games. You can find these games in the Archives of the RP forum. The game is open ended, aside from a few NPC's within the overall game structure, the players are free to create as many anxilary characters as they desire, to go with their main. Usually these extra characters will be either in the militia, or civilians returning to the mall.
Basic premise, is of course, survivors attempting to survive in a wasteland. Malton is a huge city, and Caiger Mall is located in the south-western corner. Anyone who has had a character in the old games, are welcome to rejoin with them here, or create new ones. Each thread will be episodic, in that they will begin and end on a storyline, and it's up to the players to decide how the story will play out.
Sheets should be simple: Give as much information as you feel comfortable with giving, make sure to include at least basic info (Name, Age, Gender, brief history).
I look forward to seeing who will play.

Darek Silver
Commader of Adeptus Exterminatus (Librium Irregulars)
Age: 38
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown with some grey
Pre-Outbreak Occupation: Police Officer
History:
Before the Outbreak, Darek had a good life. He worked for the Malton Police Department as a detective, a wife, a child and a two story rowhouse in Chudleyton District. When the outbreak started, Silver and his family where visiting a museum in Ridleybank, when some of the Infected broke in. His family was killed before his eyes, as Silver attempted to beat back some of the undead corpses. And something snapped in him.
A few weeks later, he was found by his old College friend, Petro, and a group of survivalist who had gathered together. In the weeks that followed, in the Librium Building, the Irregulars were formed, and work began. When Petro decided to go against the normal operations of small, mobile, separate bases for the two units, and take the Caiger Mall, Silver became the head of Military Operations for the fortress, with the Second Irregulars and Caiger Militia following in his footsteps. The Irregulars were instrumental in defending Caiger from numerous hordes, and clearing the surrounding area and keeping it Zed free as the Mall was resupplied by NecroTech. Until the mega-horde arrived.
Silver himself loaded Petro and Melanie into the first helicopter, and watched it take off, and helped his men in the defense of their home. When the Mall fell, Silver ordered the tunnels blown, and watched as most of the survivors scattered.
In the months that followed, Silver worked to rebuild the Irregulars, finding those who made their way back into Malton, and reforging the Unit. He forged them into a new Unit, forsaking the "Second" moniker, and dubbing them "The Librium Irregulars". He named surviving member of the Second, Leman Russ, as his second in command, while Zimmerman, one of the old members of Petro's First unit, as his aide.
Having recently retaken the Mall, Silver looks forward to refortifying their home, and once more making it shining example to the humans left in Malton - a symbol of Hope.

Could be interesting, I am starting working up ideas for a character. A reformed anarchist should be amusing.

Melani Elise Philips a.k.a: Urchin or 'Ell
Age: 20
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Red
Pre-Outbreak Occupation: Corporal U.S Army
Appearance:
Melani looks like she should be playing with dolls rather than hunting zombies with a team of burly men. She is a slight young woman but tall nearly 5'9". She keeps her long red hair pulled back in a pony tail or braid and her bangs tucked behind her ears. Her bright innocent eyes are almost always behind a set of binoculars or the scope of a gun. She wears street clothes, jeans and t-shirts or hoodies, for the most part but will don her army fatigues when she goes scouting with Silver. She is a tomboy and has a temper to match her fiery hair.
History:
Melani was a young corporal in the us army from Arkansas when the out break happened. Her family (her father and 4 brothers) had been killed while she was overseas. She was soon stationed in Malton after the outbreak. She had been able to survive the destroyed streets of Malton for months after the U.S Army had pulled out and left the troops it had dropped, with no warning. She met Silver and the other Irregulars when she had made it to Caiger. She had been injured and near death but made a full recovery with the exception of a slight limp. (read Urban dead; A Reluctant Hero) She had been under Sliver’s foot in the beginning but soon proved herself an asset and became part of the team. When all hell broke loose, Dorian, the person she had been closest to, left in the first chopper with Petro and Mel. Sliver had assigned her to blow one of the tunnels, but something had gone wrong. It had taken over a month for Sliver to find her…

Case Report #1,543,548
Name: Spear Kid
Age ~ 12
Eyes: Green
Hair: Brown, long.
Pre-Outbreak Disposition: Unknown, presumed at Primary School.
Post-Outbreak Medical Notes: Apparently Mute. All attempts to communicate verbally are ignored illiciting no response. Limited success in directing him via hand signals. Other means of communication ineffectual. Willful, fierce and determined in his independence. Surprisingly resistant to the zombie virus.
Combat Notes:
Primary Weapon: Spear, single handed with shield and two handed interchangeably.
Secondary Weapons: Shield and long kitchen knife. Shows a remarkable skill with all weapons, able to fight both offensively and defensively besting most opponents fought against.
Notes: Draws on many forms of dark ages style fighting. Probable training pre-outbreak. Keeps enemies at a distance and adopts a mobile defense in most cases.
Location: Hard to locate at any one time. Usually found in the sewers beneath the city. Appears to have a photographic memory as any teams following him have been lead through many kilometres of tunnels and been thoroughly lost via city maps scrounged post-outbreak before arriving unscathed at destination via Spear Kids' silent guidance. Appears seemingly at random amongst survivors with all manner of looted wares. Recently has had more contact with the Irregulars as he moves around the Darvell Heights area.
Cheers all,
Squidgey.
P.S. For reference, we've confirmed that you can send messages from the closed UD server of Borehamwood (both my survivors Auretious Taak and Auretious taak 2 made it to the Top 100 Survivors on this perma death closed server), to Malton and from Malton to Borehamwood. It's odd, and unfortunately none of us left alive in Borehamwood have alts alive in Monroeville to know if we can message between all three servers.

Librium Irregular NPC's
(Note: These sheets are far more detailed than I expect the PC sheets to be. This is only because I feel you should have a good idea of these folks. Especially if you intend to NPC with any of them.)
The Librium Irregulars
The Librium Irregulars are a group of survivors, trapped within the city with the Zombie hordes. They were not trained military, or mercenaries, but simple men and women from all walks of life, found themselves thrust into a apocalyptic situations. Instead of crumbling, they banded together, and became stronger for it.
In the aftermath of the Zombie Outbreak, multiple survivor groups sprang up throughout the sprawling city of Malton, each claiming to be the savior of the humans left, that they would wipe out the Zombie hordes. Some, such as the Emerald Guard felt it was their duty only to protect and heal the survivors, until they were no longer able to do so. Hundreds of small, private, and pathetically armed Armies sprang up over the course of weeks. The men and women who eventually would become the Irregulars wanted nothing to do with them. They believed the idea of throwing their people behind a bunch of barricades, scrounging about for whatever they could find to barely feed their group was the height of stupidity. Better to have small groups, able to be mobile and defend each other, than have a Zed-head smorgasbord waiting to be cracked open.
In the shadows of the Librium Building in Chudleyton, the Irregular's were formed. A group who decided they would be the best at what they did - putting down Zombies like the monsters they were. And it was so. Their reputation grew, slowly at first, then more widespread, as their numbers grew, splitting into two units - the Storm Hunters and the Adeptus Exterminatus. Petro and Zimmerman took command of the Hunters, dubbed the First Irregulars, while Silver and Punt took command of the Second Irregulars.
After taking out one of the first true hordes, commanded by what has since been dubbed the Commander Zombies (Zombies able to retain some intellegence and command lesser ferals around themselves); Petro decided it was time to protect the people of Malton better than they had been. Always seeing places like the malls as deathtraps in waiting, Petro had the idea of taking one of the malls for themselves, fortifying it, and holding it - stockpiling supplies behind it's concrete walls.
Zimmerman and Silver both thought the idea was insane, other Malls had tried it before, with larger numbers, and had ultimately fallen, but what Petro wanted, he eventually got - and as such, the Caiger Mall was selected, cleared of the undead, and fortified. A area around the mall was likewise cleared, made so by Patrols from both Irregular units, and the steadily growing Militia that had been also Petro's brainchild.
The Irregular's were, simply, the best at what they do. They went from being zombie slayers, to the Protectors of Caiger and the hope it represented for the poor wretches who barely held onto life. They were the hope of hundreds of survivors, and will soon be again.
Reforged after the loss of their home, the new Irregular's are a mix of old members and new recruits. Backed by Zimmerman and Lemann Russ, Silver intends to take back what they lost, and help give hope back to the hopeless of the city.
While most of their members were not military prior to the Outbreak, the Irregular's themselves are run as a paramilitary organization - Silver maintains overall command of the group, with Zimmerman communicating with the civilians under their care and overseeing the supplies and Lemann Russ overseeing the training of the "troops".
Zimmerman
Survival Specialist - XO of Librium Irregulars
Pre-Outbreak Occupation: Unknown
Age: 42
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 145 lbs
Hair: Bald
History:
Before the Outbreak, Zimmerman was unknown amongst the thousands living within Malton. He worked a normal job, paid his bills, on the weekends he liked to go hunting and fishing in the countryside. He would even spend two weeks a year in the Scottish Highlands, living off the land, bringing only basic camping gear with him. He enjoyed the feeling of freedom of being a Survivalist. Of being able to prove he could live without what everyone took for granted.
When the Outbreak occurred, Zimmerman was better prepared than most. Being slightly paranoid always made him stock up on bare necessities of life, water, canned foods and ammo - one never knew when a fire, or a earthquake or Zombie outbreak wold occur after all.
When the first Zed's began banging on his door, Zimmerman put his practical experience to use - fortifying his apartment, setting up traps bunking down for the haul. He figured within a couple weeks, at most, the military would have things sorted and life would be back to normal.
When it became apparent that the authorities were not going to charge in and get things under control, Zimmerman hardened. The sounds of Zed's roaming outside grew louder as the days passed, and the banging on his doors became more insistent. Eventually, the Zed's would break in, he knew. And thus, he decided to escape.
Building up the barricades to his door as best he could, Zimmerman packed enough food for several days, grabbed his a rifle and a box of bullets, and climbed off his fire escape to begin his scavenging missions.
It was during one of these missions, that Zimmerman met with Petro - and the two became fast allies. Eventually, Zimmerman and Petro formed what would become the core of the Librium Irregulars. A system of safehouses and water capture devices were devised and implemented. As their twosome grew larger, they decided to look for more survivors - figuring while it'd be more mouths to feed, it'd also mean better chances of survival. When they found Silver in the ruins of the Librium Building, along with a few survivors he had gathered, the Librium Irregulars were truly born.
The taking of the Caiger Mall and the clearing of the area around it was the brainchild of Petro, but the man who made it a reality - who made sure it wouldn't come crashing down on them - was Zimmerman. Petro was the figurehead, the man who made the survivors who gathered at the mall turned castle feel hope, but it was Zimmerman who got things done. He became the Administrator of Caiger Mall. When the megahorde attacked, Zimmerman could have escaped with First, but felt better to stay behind - to help those who would survive and not be able to escape.
A week after the Caiger fell, Zimmerman managed to met back up with Silver and what was left of the Second. Never being much of a fighter, but one hell of a planner, Zimmerman became one of the new Irregular's most trusted leaders.
Personality:
Zimmerman, under the auspices of the Irregulars, become a Administrative genius. Always a bit of a survivalist, he remains gruff and taciturn with most people, knowing how to get things done, and get them done in the quickest and most efficient way possible with what he has on hand. If he is told to do the impossible, he finds a way to make it possible. Despite this, when working with the civilians within the mall, he manages to act like a normal human being.
Leman Russ
Second in Command
Pre-Outbreak Occupation: Auto-repair Tech
Age: 32
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 165 lbs
Hair: Dirty Blonde
History:
Before the Outbreak, Leman Russ worked on cars. That's all he'll ever tell anybody. When the Second found him, in the second floor of a office building, hiding out from a group of ten zombies, with black ooze on his arms from where he apparently beaten some of the Zed's in the head, he was welcomed into their company with delight.
Under the training of Punt and Decimus, Russ learned how to fight the zombies on a less than even footing, putting his natural bulk and ability to punch like a cinderblock going 50kph into a effective anti-zombie weapon - two spiked metal gauntlets, not unlike the one commonly worn by Silver himself. Leman served the Irregulars well, and earned marks as one of their better close in fighters. When the Caiger fell, and Punt went missing, Silver promoted Russ to his second in command, and began recruiting more into their group.
Personality:
For such a big, serious looking man, Russ is a jovial fellow, quick with a joke or to light up a smoke (only if you share one with him). Not easy to anger, Russ's laugh has been known to fill a room and become infectious to others. In combat, he's no-nonsense, prefering to strike with his .22 caliber hunting rifle, and if forced into CQB, smashing Zed heads with his armored fist.
Never being much of a fighter, but one hell of a planner, Zimmerman became one of the new Irregular's most trusted leaders.

mmm, interesting Squidgey....
I haven't played UD in a long long while...so I didn't know that.
As a note to those playing: we're only advancing a year from the last UD game on the board, meaning Infection has occured a little less than 2 years ago.

John Chapman
Age: 26
Eyes: brown
Hair: Still dyed multiple colors
Pre-Outbreak Occupation: Anarchist
History
John was an honest to God Anarchist in the pre-outbreak days. He and a group of like-minded friends worked hard to bring down civilization. As John saw it, all governments had shown themselves to be corrupt, vile, pusbag ruins that were stifling humanity. So they had to be destroyed so anarchy could take root properly. His group turned to terrorism, never hitting civilian targets, only the bloated government.
When the outbreak hit, John rejoiced. Here was a chance for anarchy to flourish and grow. The government made a show of attempting to control the situation, but they were overall useless. John and his friends however were well prepared for this situation and knew how to take care of themselves. In those days, John and some of his group even tried to take credit for the outbreak, though it was a lie.
After six months, the honeymoon was over. While anarchy still reigned, it wasn't like they had thought it would be, partly because of the brain eating zombies, partly for other reasons. John began to feel that anarchy had failed them just as much as any government had, and the close-knit group of friends began to bicker, argue, fight, and become disorganized. Within the month the zombies had broken into the fortified house they had been using as a primary base of operations and killed most of them. John and a few others ran for their lives in separate directions and even now John doesn't know what has happened to the rest. Since the failure of anarchy, John has been on his own for the most part, flitting between the various secondary bases his group had set up and staying there for a month or so.
Now the Caiger is retaken, and John is on the move to join with humanity for the first time in a long while.

So Squidgey...just a couple questions....
Why does a 12 year old know medievil combat? The shield and weapons thing I'm not worried about, museums and stuff for those (it's how Silver gets his gauntlet and battle axe), but at 12...he should know some talkings, and all that...
I'm just asking for some OOC clarification, while the game calls for some SoD, I'm wanting to keep it somewhat sensible.

Mike Williams
Age:22
Height: 5'8"
Hair and eyes: Brown
Pre-Outbreak Occupation: College student
History: Mike was a regular college student, low paying job, just enough to pay the bills and pay for his airsoft gear, and with the priority of playing with his team, CAG. When the outbreak began, Mike and his friends were out in the woods, playing. When they returned, the found the city overrun. The first few weeks were hetic, merely scrambling to each of their houses to grab any weapons they had. But after the second month, they were still alive. Due largely to the fact that the founders and leaders of the team were all former Royal Army infantry and other combat related jobs. CAG practiced and trained and fought and scavenged. The real boon was when they found a wiped out military unit, stripping the dead of all useful gear.
And now, CAG turns to the southwest, heading for Caiger, hearing on the radio that their are suvivors there.

Malton, England
(most Information Pre-Outbreak)
City History
Malton was founded in early 37 A.D. by a group of displaced Welshmen and Scotsmen, driven out of their homes for reasons lost to the mists of time (though the best estimate is tribal land disputes). Driven south by their pursuers, they encountered each other in the misty hills of southwest England on the site of an even older town, and decided to settle there, protecting each other. These were the Ridleigh and Galbraith families, and the town they settled had once belonged to the Marbháin tribe, now gone. Hence began the city of Malton, and all its dark past.
Though the maltons (as the hills were known) housed many small towns all the way up to the 19th century, the city as it is known today was not officially founded until 1820, when several small towns united in an effort to clean up their area, notorious as a slaughterhouse and crime center. The official Founding of the City of Malton was made on July 3rd, 1820, with the signing of the Ridleybank Doctrine by the mayors of the eight central towns in the area- Havercroft, Shore Hills, Barrville, Mockridge Heights, Ridleybank, Galbraith Hills, Stanbury Village, and Shackleville. The Ridleybank Doctrine currently sits in the British Archives, locked away and forgotten, much like the town it founded.
In 1912, the city was partially ruined in the wake of the Great Fire and subsequent rioting by local church groups.
Population
Malton was a large city with a population of around 600,000 people on the day of the outbreak (making it the third-largest city in England at the time), which occurred around July 2005. Some believe that some people escaped and left the city before quarantine. However, this is highly unlikely, since the military-imposed quarantine was so sudden; there was no chance to pack up and leave. Exactly three weeks after the outbreak, a military containment force, numbering about 200,000 troops and crew, was sent in to try to eradicate the numerous zombie hordes, but their war was lost before they even arrived. In the first two weeks, it was estimated that at least 50,000 civilians were killed in riots and zombies. About six months after the outbreak, military estimates reported 225,000-300,000 civilian deaths, attributed to zombie attacks, low food supply levels, disease, and gang violence. About 2/3 of the people initially killed were turned into zombies themselves from zombie bites. Also in that six months, about 45% of the military forces that were sent in were reported to be either KIA or MIA. A year since the outbreak, new estimates said that at least 450,000 people, including the military forces, were now dead from the previously listed causes.
Climate
Whilst Malton has a relatively damp climate, it has gained an undeserved reputation as a rainy city. The average annual rainfall is 979 mm. Its average annual rainfall total is comparable with that of Central Europe, unusual for the area. Strangely snowfall is not a common sight in the city, due to urban warming, however many roads leading out of the city can be closed due to snow.
Location
Malton lies in a bowl-shaped land area bordered to the north and east by hills. Additionally, along its northern edge adjoining the suburbs Jensentown, Quarlesbank, West Boundwood, and East Boundwood, runs the River Kevan. The City is very unusual, mainly modern, with a planned grid layout. The City itself is square, of the river, hills and protected forestland on it eastern border.
Demographics
In the 2001 census, 87% of people identified themselves as "White", 5.9% as "Indian" or "Pakistani", 2.3% as "Black Caribbean" and 1.4% as "Black African". When it came to religion, 78% were any form of Christianity, 10.1% were atheist/followed no religion 4.9% were believers of Islam, 2% were Jewish and 3% were Hindu. The other 2% were of other religions.
Age demographics in Malton showed a slight lean towards the older end of the population spectrum, as many younger people tended to not find anything of interest in the town, and moved out as soon as they could. Inversely, middle-aged and older citizens found themselves drawn by the town and its rich history, and hence often moved in.
Economy
From its founding in 1820 Malton was and is a primarily industrial city. Sitting as the crown jewel of several steel and textile companies, Malton pre-Outbreak was a linchpin of the Cornish tin industry, the Somerset coal mining, and several points of British steel production. Big names such as Stothert Banking, Harper Chemical, and the massive Woodroffe Steel Corporation, all hung their hats within the city borders, and brought in huge amounts of money for the council to expand.
Malton industry has served an important role in both of the Great Wars since its founding- in the First World War, the Royal Small Arms Company shunted much of their weapons production out of London to Malton to avoid German bombing. From 1915 to the end of the war in 1918, Malton's factories and railway stations hummed with the roar of industry, sending thousands of rifles and cartridges to London and the Continent. In the next great war, Malton once again found itself host to Enfield's works, and also found itself playing host to German bombers tracking the industry as it flowed out from burning London.
Malton's tourism industry has always had erratic highs and lows. The suburb of Peppardville is the central hub for all of Malton's tourist attractions, including Titley Park, though is pockmarked with many low-rent housing plans and projects in the surrounding area, which is a benchmark of the low capital the city's tourist industry brought in. At a few peak times tourism has been very profitable in Malton, however, and several attractions were able to remain profitable up until the outbreak.
Though largely industrial, Malton was hit hard by the collapse of the Cornish tin industry and the English coal industry in the 1980s, which (hitting right after the Energy Crisis of the latest 1970s) nearly destroyed the city. As a forced result of the collapse, much of the city center tranformed from secondary industry to tertiary industry- rather, from manufacturing to service jobs. By the time of the outbreak in 2005, though the Malton skyline was still dotted with the towers and chimneys of factories and peaked roofs of warehouses (and though the Dot-Com Bubble collapse in 2001 hit the industry across the knees once again), the predominant shapes were those of the ubiquitous office blocks of clerical work.
Culture
After the decline of the heavy industries of the 20th century, Malton council wanted to change the city's image. It was designated to be a cultural center, with a large amount of public museums and art galleries.
Crime
Malton's crime rate was quite high before the outbreak. There were several organized criminal groups in the southern suburbs, which supposedly had contacts with other organizations from America, Morocco and Chicago. Several mafias, assassination squads, and terrorist organizations ran loose in Malton. However, the most illegal events were unorganized, chaotic and very violent. There were several instances well before the outbreak where martial law was temporarily imposed in the city and elements of nearby military forces were sent in to aid Malton police.
Border
Known by most inhabitants of Malton as Quarantine Zone, the border area that has surrounded the map of Malton has been established since the threat of an outbreak. This desolate territory is utter suicide for both Survivor or Zombie that attempts to cross it.
The border is mostly just the area of surrounding city that was once part of Malton, but was then leveled and occupied by the Army in order to keep people out and zombies -and survivors- in. The soldiers stationed around Malton take special precautions that nothing crosses this zone.
In places around Malton, the actual old city walls- that is, the medieval walls that were built around Malton back in medieval times and maintained as historic landmarks- have been incorporated into the Quarantine Zone's design. In other places, entirely new walls have been erected. Contingents of soldiers patrol both old and new walls day and night, manning the spotting towers, machine-gun posts, and flame turrets. But in some places no wall exists, either due to the terrain or the needs of the area. These places are possibly even more heavily defended than the walls- the obstacles include long lines of razorwire, land mines, anti-vehicle barriers, and napalm trenches, accompanied by manned machinegun emplacements that target anyone or anything that tries to cross the border.

I doubt Silver and frigid would get along. I did point a gun at the back of your head after all...

Things change.
It admittedly, frigid thought Silver was going to kill Petro at the time.
and Silver was half whacked out on Zombie-juice running in his veins.
It's been a year. Man up and come protect the civies.

"Mr. Z.", real name unknown.
Age(Estimated): 29.
Height: 5'2"(Lurching), 6'0"(Standing tall)
Hair: Brown, falling out.
Eyes: Grey.
Pre-Outbreak Occupation: Military, branch, rank, and specialization unknown.
"HABBHAn ARn GBHAaHGh ZMHA RZHGARMNMN RZHAMZBBHA!"
(Even in death, we still serve.)
Most who fall to Zombiehood go Feral, or are herded and eventually absorbed into the Hordes, or the mysterious, sinister death-cults are fodder and labour. Not all, however. The zombie who fell early on and would eventually form the Undying Defenders was one of the first to recover the use of proper speech, though he's apparently quite fluent in Zombese and KiZombie.
Prior to the Fall Of Caiger, the Undying Defenders were a group of zombies who did what they could to defend the unzombified populace from the Ferals and Hordes. Unfortunately, the ideals embraced were rare in the now infected zeds, and many left after the feeling of betrayal of family and friends opening fire on them as they were just another corpse.
Mr. Z roams Malton now, his previously loftly speeches replaced with the dull, death-rattle groan of sadness that has come from his failures.

Shattergrave
Profession: Necromancer
Age:? Appears late 30s/early 40s by way of a lot of hard road.
Height: 6'
Weight: 152 lbs
Any biologist can tell you zombies are scientifically impossible. The mountain of obfuscating verbiage that is used to describe the Malton disaster succeeds in hiding that from the ignorant, but enlightened eyes are also watching. They know that despite whatever contribution science had to the horror unleashed on Malton there was also a component that was not a part of conventional science.
There are horrors beyond this world that primitive man has labeled demons or dark gods when he has been unfortunate enough to encounter any fragment of their dark being. The truth about them is worse, but they offer power and dominion to those who would be their slaves. Slaves that might bring the some of their masters to Earth and unleash an apocalypse.
So the masters of the Hermetic Order sent one of their most experienced agents to Malton to investigate, a necromancer known as Shattegrave. What he found there almost broke him.
The horror is on a scale he had never scene before and it is in the open. A whole city abandoned to it's fate and a plague of undeath that maybe spreading. He was sent here to find the cancer at the heart, study it, and cut it out. It is all he can do to survive.
Appearance: Shattergrave appears to be a pale man in early middle age. He's lean, almost gaunt, clean shaven and with short dark hair. He wears a heavy leather trench coat whose inside is holds many blades. The practice of magic is both physically and mentally demanding and has taken it's toll on Shattergrave's body. Each spell he casts is taxing, the more powerful the spell the more it ravages his body and strains his mind.
In addition to his blades and magical foci and reagents, he is armed with a 9mm Glock and several clips of ammunition.

If the group doesn't want the character, that's fine. Go ahead and say it. I'm already playing one game (HMD) which has magic and my character doesn't get to use any. Mage whore that I am, I have no intention of playing two games at the same time with magic and not have at least one wizard.

Hey Dark Silver,Dark Silver wrote:So Squidgey...just a couple questions....
Okay, 12 year old knowing medieval combat is easy - parents pre-outbreak were re-enacters, it isn't uncommon in some societies to have children involved from a young age especially those groups that focus on all things from their period, a good example would be some of the groups here in Australia such as the metal group (actually use period accurate weapons, so none of this padded weapons crap except to initially learn on) The Huscarls. You have people from all walks of life and and that includes children going to Easter Gatherings and other events so it is perfectly plausible he has learnt the techniques that way.
Alternatively one could imagine he started some sort of asian spear fighting or polearm work from a young age. There's some crazy stuff on youtube if you can manage to track it down.
Another possibility is he is a genius and as such a damned fast learner and combined with reasons above you get this extraordinary skill developed.
For reference, the ID I had in the case number above, well I started a new UD Character in Malton (Malton has gotten boring, done basically everything and death is meaningless there, Borehamwood...the next mini server released, spend the first day spamming out a zombie and 2-3 Survivors, leave 2 survivors to fade out after acquiring a Toolbox and some basics - FAK's, maybe some spray paint - and play through one character) called Spear Kid. My first 70 AP has seen me acquire 11 FAK's, 2 lengths of pipe, a crowbar, a fire axe, 3 fuel cans (used one), 2 poetry books (dropped 1), a book, 3 spray cans and the most essential tool of them all - a Toolbox, to go with my flare and binoculars a Scout starts with. Yeah, I have the groove still! :D
Also, ski poles, knife and pool cues seem like the best way to represent spears in the game itself, heh.
Due to the mute characteristic, I'll likely approach his RP aspect froma 3rd person outsiders view at times, mostly in itallics with actual character interaction in normal font so as to distinguish it. It should work.
Cheers,
Squidgey.

A question.
How much heavy-fighting have you done? How many times have you tested the weight alone of an actual medieval weapon against the ritan mockups? I've done both, and I know damn well it'd never work.

Hell, he has the point we had psychic's last game, a CoC type magicy guy isn't going to upset anything when we have 450k Zombies out there.
